Evaluation of yield management as a revenue-increasing tool: Case study

Abstract

The aim of this article is to evaluate the future usage of 'yield management' for one hotel in the Czech Republic. The research is done in the form of case study. Several indicators of yield management will be used such as average room rate, revenue per available room, the calculation of fixed and variable costs and the average occupancy rate. The outcomes of this research show that by future implementation of yield management, the hotel revenues should increase annually. This research should increase awareness in the hotel management and offer an impulse for considering the changes in pricing for increasing better future economic sustainability.
