dc.description.abstract | This paper presents some of the work performed to improve a multi-layer, barrier, fuel line production process through the optimization of the extruder and screw design for the barrier material (EVOH). A computer simulation was used to evaluate an existing screw that was performing poorly, and design a new screw for the process. The new screw design was manufactured and found to eliminate the process problems created by the original screw design and operate with higher efficiency. | en |
