dc.description.abstract | The paper deals with adaptive control of a shell and tube heat exchanger. Two different control inputs are considered. The procedure of the control design is based on approximation of a nonlinear model of the process by continuous-time external linear models with parameters recursively estimated via corresponding external delta models. The structures of approximating linear models are chosen on the basis of primary steady-state and dynamic analysis of the process. The control system configuration with two feedback controllers is used. The control laws for both control inputs are derived using the polynomial approach and the LQ control technique. The proposed method is verified by control simulations. | en |
